It’s finally here, the Helsinki IW, and it brings along a lot of joy for both us regulars at HSE and the group of visitors coming to check us out! If you didn’t have plans for the week, congrats, you just got some! If you were busy anyway, prepare to lose some sleep 
Helsinki International Week
It starts today! Helsinki International week is like Christmas, Midsummer, Easter and all the other holidays all together for the international minded students. Don’t miss it! Week is full of action: Pimp your overall, seminar, III-kierros Beer Rally and Afterparty, Alien sitsi, Boston Night and Sillis. Last chance to get the tickets to III-kierros beer Rally is Wednesday 8.10. at 2 pm. Enjoy the week!
Pimp My Haalari
On Monday KUJ is distributing overalls in the festivehall at HSE. In the afternoon, (from 4 PM on), come and join in Pimp My Haalari (Overall) event at Yläkertsi to sew badges to your overall and enjoy the company of other students!
Tikelo movie screening 6.10. 7 pm @ Orion: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Welcome to spend a nice Monday evening watching the movie The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford! Movie starts at 19.00 Monday 6.10. at theatre Orion (Eerikinkatu 15). It’s a fine mixture of drama, crime, Western and biographical movies and has excellent performances by actors including Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck. Helsinki IW Seminar on Innovative Service Solutions on Wednesday
As the services are the fastest growing business of today, the theme for this year’s Helsinki International Week is “Innovative Service Solutions”. This theme combines different services provided by companies through innovative means. The partner companies of this year’s international week will introduce us to their different solutions and methods used for providing services through new and innovative means. Beer Rally on Thursday
On Thursday it’s time for the beer-rally III-Kierros. You can still get tickets to this event. Cultural Committee (KUVA) is selling tickets during the 12 and 14 breaks on Tuesday and on Wednesday. The after party is in Onnela (starting at 9 PM) and the after-after party starts at 3 at Alakertsi and it is organized by KUJ.
Aliensitsit on Friday
Aliensitsit will be held by NESU-KY on Friday starting at 19.00. A sitsi party in English, basically everyone sits along a long table and eats, drinks and sings drinking songs together.
Boston Night on Saturday
Boston Night Cocktail party takes place in Sokos Hotel Presidentti on Saturday 11.10.. For this event you are supposed to dress nicely. For gentelemen dark suit is recommended and for ladies cocktail dress (usually black!). The event is already sold out, but the
evening continues at Alakertsi after around midnight. An alternative overall-party is organised by Nesu in Yläkertsi.
Boston Night too fancy for you? Tickets were sold out too early? Get to Varjo-Boston, a more casual sort of party arranged by Nesu on Sunday starting at 19 at KY Big Side (3rd floor) Dresscode overalls and BYOD (Bring Your Own Drinks). Party continues on with the Boston Nighters at the KY Basement starting around mignight.
Sillis
Sillis (herring breakfast) is on Sunday! Sillis is one of the most legendary parties ever organized for the students of our school, so don’t miss it! Dresscode an overall and a funny hat!
Sports and welfare on week 45
Sports and welfare week is coming soon! The point is to offer possibilities for students to try new sports. If you have any sports that you haven’t tried before but you are interested in, you can still suggest it to liikunta@kyweb.fi. Meanwhile remember to take care of your health between all the parties!
