Hello again!

There’s sunshine! There’s sunshine in Finland! Feels really nice, doesn’t it. It’s also nice to realise that this week is full of stuff to do and next week doesn’t look bad at all either. Why not start off your week with a free-yet-quality movie while reflecting on whether going on exchange next year sounds tempting or not. It might be wise to turn in those applications before Thursday though… Since I doubt too many will be thinking of anything too serious on Thursday evening/night ;).

Wanna see the world?

If you wanna go on exchange during the semester of 2008-09, you have to leave your application by 19.00 on 1.2.! There’s a Go Abroad –day arranged at HSE main building on 29.1. from 10.30 – 15 during which you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about going on exchange. Visit https://piazza.hse.fi for info on exchange studies.

Tikelo presents: The Prestige Monday 28.01.

The movie club of KY, Tikelo, is starting off this year with an excellent piece ”The Prestige” on Monday 28.01. at theatre Orion (Eerikinkatu 15) at 7 pm. http://tikelo.kyweb.org/2008/01/25/the-prestige-orion-eerikinkatu-15.

Happy Hour at 9pm-10pm taps and salmari shot 1 e. Whole evening booze+soda 3 e, soda 1,50 e and water is free. Beach party´s coming to town!

Herrarit is coming! Attention freshmen-girls

Herrarit is a party arranged by freshman girls solely for the guys at HSE. It’s a wild party with a certain theme each year and this is your chance to participate in the organization. Get yourself to KY Basement on 4.2. from 18.30 on to listen and participate! If you really wanna join in on the fun, make sure you get to this first meeting!

Sledge day 5.2. @ Kaivopuisto

It’s time to gather your friends and start preparing for the big sledge-day, very traditional Finnish winter-sport day on 5.2.2008. On this day the university students around Helsinki area gather to Ullanlinnanmäki to have fun and sled together from noon to 4 PM. Use your imagination and create an amazing sledge; the best one will be rewarded at 2 PM. Music and other free time activities will add fuel to the sporty atmosphere. Warm Battery, sausage and pea soup are offered for a student friendly price.

Afterparty in Onnela organized by the student union of the Helsinki University of Technology. This party starts at 8 PM and lasts till morning. Tickets 10€ beforehand from TKY, HYY or Tiketti or 13€ from Ullanlinnanmäki and Onnela. Only the tickets purchased in advance include a tap beer or cider. Don’t be late; get the tickets beforehand!

Are you a golfer? Join KY-Slice!

If you’re enthusiastic about golf and want to meet your soulmates, attend KY-Slice’s info evening on 29th of January. The meeting will be held at KY’s Sauna at 7PM.

Give feedback on communications courses @ HSE

The subject club of all HSE-students studying communications, Viesti-KY, organizes a feedback session on Tuesday, 29 January at 6PM in KY Basement. Meet the teachers and your fellow students and speak your mind!

Get your tickets for the Grand Annual Ball

The tickets for the biggest KY-event of the year will be sold on 30 January starting at 9AM at KY building, 3rd floor. Be early in order to get yours — in 2007 the last two tickets were sold to a person who arrived at 6.39AM!

The tickets cost 50 euros. Each KY member has the right to purchase max. 2 tickets.

Punch, cake and a real old-school band, Finland’s very own “Dingo”! Tickets only 6€. Ticket sales begin during week 6. More info coming up!
